Day 1: Our cycling adventure kicks off at Catalina State Park! We ride amongst incredible views of the Santa Catalina Mountains with giant Saguaro and lush desert landscape. Shortly after leaving the park, we enter the famous Tucson Loop bicycle path. A series of scenic bike paths take us to our lodging at the Woodlands Ranch Resort.
Tonight, we unwind with a takeout dinner together. Relax on the patio and gaze at the star-filled night sky!
Day 2: We begin the day at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, where we get an overview of desert life and see native wildlife and flowers, and possibly a birds of prey demonstration!
Our bike ride starts from the parking lot and heads out on the McCain Loop, named after Senator John McCain. For our first taste of gravel, we pedal the Bajada Loop Drive to a picnic lunch. Here, there is an optional short hike to a petroglyph site in the Tucson Mountain District. After lunch, a few more miles conclude the day at the Red Hills Visitor Center of the Saguaro National Park.
Tonight, dinner is on your own in downtown Tucson. As the first UNESCO-designated Creative City of Gastronomy in the country, Tucson offers a vibrant culinary scene shaped by centuries of agricultural heritage and cultural diversity, making for an unforgettable dining experience.
Day 3: Today’s ride takes us down the iconic Mt. Lemmon, offering an unforgettable descent through four distinct ecosystems – from high alpine sky islands to the desert floor. Before the ride, an optional hike is available for those who want to explore on foot. Ride as much or as little as you’d like, with multiple opportunities to hop in the van along the way. For those seeking a challenge, ride up part of the mountain, starting at Windy Point. Whatever your adventure level, we can make it happen! Tonight, we gather for a group dinner at the famous Teresa’s Mosaic Café, known for its authentic flavors and local charm.
Day 4: We ride into the breathtaking Saguaro National Park East today, with stunning desert scenery and sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Inside the park, get up close to the unique landscape with an optional hike.
After leaving the park, we ride back to Woodlands Ranch and enjoy lunch together before saying our goodbyes.
