Day 1: Welcome to Palisade! Today we’ll ride along the Colorado river onto the Fruit and Wine Byway. With the Colorado Mesa in the background we’ll wind our way through orchards and vineyards into the quaint town of Palisade. Palisade is known for their delicious peaches, cherries, pears, and grapes! During the spring we will see and smell the orchards, and during the fall we will taste the fruits of the harvest. Spend the first night in Palisade with time to explore this sweet Colorado town.
Day 2: A wow day indeed! Today we’ll ride the Colorado National Monument. We’ll start the ride after the van does the climbing for us and then get to pedal across the top taking in the views of the monument and the valley. Once we arrive at the visitor center, there will be time for a hike before working our way to Moab, UT. Once we arrive, you’ll check into the hotel for the next 3 nights. Unpack & Relax!
Day 3: Day 3 brings us into the beautiful Arches National Park. We’ll start with the most recognizable symbol of Utah: Delicate Arch. We’ll then make our way to Landscape Arch, the Windows Section, and Turret Arch. We’ll finish our day of hiking to the tallest arch in the park: Double Arch. Don’t forget your camera for this unbelievably beautiful day
Day 4: We’ll mix it up today with a ride, a hike, and another ride. Our first ride will be 15 miles down Potash Road following the Colorado River. After that we’ll change shoes, pack lunch, and hike to the famous Corona Arch. Post-lunch we’ll ride back into Moab.
Day 5: Another hike-bike day! We’ll begin with a drive to Canyonlands National Park and hike to the Mesa Arch and Grand View Point followed by a picnic lunch at the Visitors Center. There we’ll change into cycling gear and ride more than 20 miles of downhill back to Moab. From there, we’ll move to our final accommodations of the week where we’ll spend the night along the banks of the mighty Colorado River in Castle Valley.
Day 6: Wake up and take in the sights. After breakfast, we’ll prepare for the final ride of the week with a long and beautiful downhill into Castle Valley. Returning the ranch, we’ll lunch, change clothes and tell stories of the week as we drive back to Grand Junction for farewells.
